“At 3, I take a few steps in the sea. The image of my two feet in the water is the first I remember.”

Built around 31 moments, this book is told in the first person by a man who looks back on his life. Related to love, friendship, strong sensations or disruptions, these are the moments of his existence that mattered the most: the taste of the first wild strawberry he ate with his dad, the first true friend he made, the first time he went on a trip alone… Through a system of die-cuts, the moments of the first pages become memories which remain with the man as he grows older, makes new experiences and builds new memories. This allows for the moments to be sometimes reactivated by new events: through the die-cut, the image of the memory completes the image of the new moment the man is telling, thus writing the emotional story of a man’s existence.

With this novel idea, acclaimed author Adrien Parlange confirms yet again his mastery of putting a clever conceptual system at the service of a strong emotional and intellectual message.
