A little girl stands dreamily on her balcony: it’s already Sunday, and the end of the holidays. The feeling that they’ve just begun, full of promises, still lingers within her. In the gloomy town, she takes her little dog and her melancholy for a walk. Her steps lead her to the sports field, where she celebrated the last day of school with her friends. The rain begins to fall... In the puddles that form, the memory of that good moment appears, echoing in the present. As the memory unfolds, her heart lightens… because beautiful memories don’t belong only to the past; they also illuminate the present. A book celebrating the awareness of time passing, the end of everything, but also the sweetness of memory.

The author and illustrator

Romain Bernard is an author and illustrator. After studying Applied Arts in Angoulême and Toulouse, he worked as a graphic designer before devoting himself to illustration. He works for the press and designs novel covers (Le Rouergue, La Table Ronde, L'arbre vengeur). He published two albums in 2019: Jour après jour (La Martinière Jeunesse) and Chromopolis (Maison Eliza). He lives in Toulouse.
