Volpiglio’s Winter
Karen Hottois & Julia Woignier

A beautiful picture book about generosity, loneliness, and creativity as a remedy for melancholy.

Winter is coming. Hedgehogs, frogs, carp... everyone is getting ready to hibernate. Everyone except Volpiglio, because as we all know, foxes don't hibernate. So he devotedly tucks his friends in, reads them stories, arranges their pillows and prepares snacks... then he goes home. Suddenly, everything is so quiet. Time passes slowly, and he misses his friends so much! One morning, a layer of fresh snow provides him with a blank page on which to write whatever comes to his mind. And every day, the snow renews itself... The fox gives free rein to his inspiration and his love of playing with words. One morning, the snow melts away to reveal the earth: spring is back...
